Well I assume everybody caught Star Trek this weekend, as part of our geek-ily duties.
I liked it, was it the greatest sci-fi movie of the 21st century. no.
Was it as cool, yes. A good B + rating from me.
But one thing bugged me as we stepped out the cinema…
I don’t know if i dig the whole alternate timeline / parellel universe stuff.
So in essence it’s a big fuck you, all your favorite Star Trek episode & crap that ain’t happenin’ now,
Cause now the Enterprise is in a whole parallel universe writing a whole new time line.
Or does history find a way to balance itself out… Hmmm Kirk did end up captain (surprise surprise)
I dunno time travel always leaves a bad taste in my mouth..

Haven’t seen the new Star Trek yet. I believe Robert and I are going to see it whenever I can carve some time out of work.
Speaking of time travel, here is a cool site that looks at all the time travel anomalies from different movies (warning: mind-blowing shit ahead):

It’s a great site. It opened up new insights into Back to the Future for me and actually got me to kinda like Donnie Darko (which I originally gave a jerky-jerky motion to when it came to the ending).

Saw it opening day. Loved it. I laughed, cried, and somewhat heaved. The time travel part kind of confused me. So does Vulcan in the following movies become New Vulcan, or will it not have happened now?

Mike, you weren’t the only one that shed a tear and he hasn’t let me live it down.

Yeah, that opening scene kinda got to me. Make him watch Godzilla 85 and see who cries then.
